Pastor’s Sabbatical

Pastor Carrie asked me to write a bit about my upcoming sabbatical as your pastor which will be oc-curring from July 7th to September 8th. When our District Superintendent, Ian Fitzpatrick, proposed the idea of a sabbatical at my pastoral review last summer, I was a little surprised. I had never thought I would be blessed by ever being able to have a sabbatical! Let me start with a bit of history about what a sabbatical is and then share with you my plan for the time spent away. Why We Relay

I am so excited about finally getting a team together for this year's Relay For Life in Barrie! Cancer unfortunately runs its terrible course through my family. I've lost grandparents that meant the world to me to this disease. When I think about it, every person you pass on the road, coffee shop, mall or elsewhere is, has been or will be affected by cancer. Our team, albeit with a humourous name and intention to have fun raising money, is dedicated to raising as much money as we can in our first year...the first of many. I've set our goal at $2000, but the truth is, $1 is an improvement on last year. If we raise $1 in 2013, 2014 we'll strive for $2.......anything to get the money to where it belongs. New Ministry! Impact for Junior Youth

Junior Youth – “Impact” is for grades 6 – 8; we meet the second Wednesday of every month. Drop off: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
We run a different event each month to keep the kids in our church and community active so they spend less time playing video games and more time making new friends and exploring their faith in a safe, friendly environment. Impact is a new ministry and we hope that you can join us and help build something amazing. [READ MORE]
