GENERAL ASSEMBLY/CONVENTION SHAWL PROJECT

This year's Church of the Nazarene General Assembly will be held June 19 - 27 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Each year the number of international delegates who attend the Assembly and Convention increases.  Many international delegates are not accustomed to the air conditioning in the meeting halls.

CAN YOU HELP by collecting and/or making shawls for each delegate?  The goal is for every international delegate to have a shawl. The delegates to the District NMI Convention are being asked to help by collecting shawls and bringing them on May 28th & 29th. If you knit or crochet you could make one or you could donate a ready made one.

Please bring them no later than Sunday, May 26th and give them to Linda Pascoe or Virginia Foster.

PRAYER REQUEST FOR CHRISTIANS IN BANGLADESH FROM

Political unrest is continuing in Bangladesh and the treats against the church and church leaders is very real and intensifying.  Your prayers are needed now more than ever.  Rev. Nathan Biswas (District Superintendent) reported news about the serious threats against him, his family and the church.  Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Let us stand with them in their suffering.

UPDATE FROM THE HUDSON FAMILY IN ROMANIA

Dear Family and Friends,

We just wanted to share with you the news about the latest books to be published in Romanian and Albanian. As you know both languages are near and dear to our hearts! Terry took this latest Romanian book for pastors through the whole process and even Julia got involved in the project by drawing the interior art work. We thank the Lord for His help with literature and pray for the other projects we have on the go: the Nazarene Manual, "The Upward Call", basic Bible studies for growing believers and other books in the "Books for Pastors" project. This might help give you an idea of the kinds of things we are involved in as missionaries in a new and developing district!

Thanks for your continued prayers for the work here.

Tammy, Terry, Julia, Emily and Elena

LOCAL MINISTRIES

Some clients of the Barrie Food Bank have health problems which means their dietary requirements cannot always be met by the food available on the Food Bank shelves.  So they are provided with pre-paid cards to complete their shopping at a grocery store. For that reason we increased the amount raised through the collection of your Zehrs tapes from $134 to $200 in order to buy grocery cards which have been delivered to the Food Bank, on your behalf.
April Bake Sale next Sunday - proceeds will go to buy items for Youth Haven care kits. The contents will be purchased with the money raised through the bake sale.  The kits will then be assembled and delivered by our Youth Group.

We are very grateful for your financial help which gives us the opportunity to  work on your behalf addressing  needs from around the world and from within our own community.

But let us not forget that each of us has our own Mission Field .... we might call it our schools, our sports teams, our work places, our neighbourhoods, our families, our friendships, or the next person we meet.
We have installed a sign over the exit door.  When you're waiting to shake hands with Pastor Mark please read it and think about it.
